HELLO NEW FRIEND

I’m Amy - a money & marriage nerd who believes every couple should discuss money weekly. And that there should be snacks.

Before marriage, I relied on eyeballing and guessing when it came to managing my finances.

When my husband and I got married, it quickly became clear that we needed a real system for managing our finances. Not because we had more money than we knew what to do with—in fact, it was quite the opposite. We had to watch every penny just to make sure we could cover everything each month. The Amazon purchases and takeout nights that seemed harmless before the wedding suddenly felt like they were weighing us down, both financially and emotionally, after we said ‘I do.’

I inherited his bass boat debt, and my husband inherited my student loan debt. We had no solid financial plan—just making minimum payments and thinking we were doing okay. But after a couple of frustrating arguments, we realized something important: without a clear plan, we weren’t really making progress we were just making payments... Despite having decent incomes, we were living paycheck to paycheck.

Feeling frustrated and lost, we made a commitment to one goal: paying off debt. With a lot of hard work, sacrifice, and following a plan as a team- within 16 months, we were debt-free, paying off a total of $68,000 in consumer debt. It wasn’t an easy journey, but it was one that strengthened our marriage more than we could have imagined. For the first time, we were on the same page with our finances, working together as a team.

By working as a team and creating a plan, my husband and I paid off $68,000 of debt in just 16 months.

This experience ignited a passion in me for helping other young couples find the same financial harmony we did. Now, I love working with couples—meeting them where they’re at, guiding them, and supporting them as they navigate their financial journeys. Helping couples create a plan, stick to a budget, and achieve their goals together is one of the best ways to start off a marriage strong.

PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY

What I Believe In:

Transparency & Unity

Marriage is a combination of two lives. Finances are meant to be shared. Both spouses have access to absolutely everything.

Goal Setting

Your finances must always have a shared goal. Without this, you’re creating a breading ground for confusion and resentment.

Paying off Debt

I believe life is better without debt and everyone should be working towards paying down debt instead of only making minimum payments for forever.

Conservative Spending

Living below your means is how a lot of financial peace is achieved. I always solve for peace instead of ‘mansions and razor thing margins’.

MY AREAS OF COACHING FOR EVERY COUPLE:

BUDGETING

Live, love, laughter, and a shared budget. The keys to success.

COMMUNICATION

Open, honest, and enjoyable money talk. It can happen.

RAINY DAY PLANNING

Life happens (usually in 3’s) so let’s get y’all prepared.
